2nd Annual NYC Anarchist Art Festival to hit Manhattan in April →

What is “anarchist art”?  New Yorkers will get a chance to decide for themselves when the 2nd Annual NYC Anarchist Art Festival takes Manhattan, Thur.-Sat., April 15-17. Hosted by The Living Theater – the quintessential, historic anarchist theater group – and held in conjunction with the 4th Annual NYC Anarchist Book Fair, the Art Festival will include performances, music, installations, video art, dance, sculpture, drawing, experimentation, and collaboration.

The NYC Anarchist Art Festival got its start last year when The Living Theater and its legendary co-founder, Judith Malina, offered space support to a group of artists during the annual NYC Anarchist Book Fair. That partnership saw the beginning of Anarchist Art Lab, a collective of new-media visual artists, performers, musicians, dancers, and genre benders in residence at The Living Theater.
